Tirsdag morgen ble de nominerte til årets Academy Awards offentliggjort av Academy-president Tom Sherak og Academy-medlem Jennifer Lawrence.
Hugo på topp Det er Martin Scorseses «Hugo» som troner på topp med hele elleve nominasjoner; blant annet «best director», «best adapted screenplay» og «best picture». Denne filmen har først Norgespremiere 16. mars i år, cirka en halv måned etter Oscarutdelingen 26. februar.
Nordmenn med i kampen På listen over de nominerte finner man ikke bare én, men to nordmenn. Hallvar Witzøs «Tuba Atlantic» er nominert i kategorien «short film (live action)» og Erik Aadahl er nominert i kategorien «best sound editing» for lydklipp i «Transformers: Dark of the moon». Dette er imidlertid ikke første gang Witzø er nominert til en Oscar. Sommeren 2011 vant han Student Academy Awards med den samme filmen.
Vert med lang erfaring I år er det den 84. gangen den verdenskjente Oscarstatuetten deles ut under Academy Awards.Som tidligere vil utdelingen gå av stabelen i Kodak Theatre i Hollywood, Los Angeles. Det er skuespilleren Billy Crystal som har fått æren av å være vert for anledningen. Det er ikke første gang; han er blant de som har gjort det flest ganger, sist i 2004.
Nå er det bare for alle filmglade å begynne og glede seg til utdelingen i februar, og krysse fingrene for nordmennene.
